Northern State hospital was once the largest facility in Washington state, for the allegedly mentally ill, Although the hospital is now closed, the facility continues to boast a high number of ghosts. The hospital was responsible for many deaths due to its use of trans-orbital lobotomies. It is believed that the ghosts of patients continue to wander the grounds. There have been multiple sightings of a young girl playing with a red ball, followed by a man who appears to be looking for the girl. There have also been reports of a nurse hanging from a noose and another nurse pushing a man in a wheelchair. The former hospital was the focus of a "Ghost Hunters" episode. Currently the site is occupied by a job corps and a drug rehab center.

  • My son and I both had a weird feeling

We were walking around by the old stable buildings and there is a tree that looks kind of just out of place both me and my 10-year-old son looked at the tree at the exact same time when we saw it and then we looked at each other realizing we were both looking at the tree at the same time. It just gave us both strange vibes. I was thinking maybe somebody was hung there when I took a picture of the tree, it looks like a person hunched over

  • Saw a ghost and heard one.

When I stayed there for school. I was looking out my bedroom window and saw a nurse hanging from a noose from a lamppost. And during one of the weekends I heard a child laughing in the hallway but didn't see any child. It was a little bit creepy.

  • Cemetery at northern state

Never had any experiences at the old facility but I believe something came home with us after our visit at there cemetery. There are many little offerings on the head stone there and for the most part has some activity going on at night.
